How do bees live in the wild and survive? They find a sheltered hole in a tree, build a comb from the top down. The hole might be from a lightening strike, where fire has left its smell. The newest honey is the lowest, at the bottom of the comb. There are brood cells with worker brood, drone cells with drone brood, and queen cells with queen brood. The honey cells contain pollen, propolis, bees wax (from scales on the worker-bees chests), and partially digested plant yummees. These cells are food for all.
